Notable cinematographers Tim and Barry have curated an iconic piece of work in their recent exhibition, “Woosh”.
Known for their extensive experience in documenting UK underground music culture, and with a portfolio spanning almost 20 years, Tim and Barry are now blessing us with the first UK Drill exhibition, accompanied by a book dedicated to the scene.
This groundbreaking exhibition showcases a collection of authentic and heartfelt images documenting experiences of the UK Drill community over the past 4 years. “Woosh” is a love letter to a genre that has done so much for the culture of music in the UK and beyond, despite often being misrepresented in wider society.
Through the images in the exhibition, Tim and Barry illustrate themes of surveillance, censorship, passion and creativity to paint a colourful picture of our ever-evolving and beloved drill scene. You’ll catch pictures of icons from 67, to Headie One, alongside many rising stars, accompanied by an extended essay that provides further context and history of UK drill culture, written by journalist Ian McQuaid.
You can experience the “Woosh” exhibition at Lazarides Gallery until 20th November.
