Yhis year we’ve had the Running Man challenge, the So Far Gone challenge and now a bizarre new craze has taken over the country. This one though, is f*cking scary.
In August, in the sleepy state of South Carolina, the first “creepy clown” was spotted. Since, many a menacing clowns have been spotted all across America, Canada, Australia and now… England.
So far, we’ve had knife wielding clowns, clowns inviting school children to their “parties” and clowns covered in blood.
One of the worst clown related incidents to take place in the UK occurred on Friday morning, when a masked man followed a group of teenagers to school in County Durham.
The crazed clown was carrying a knife at the time, with neighborhood sergeant Mel Sutherland stating, “We believe this to be part of a much larger prank which is currently sweeping across the USA and parts of the UK.
“It is very alarming [the man] was carrying a knife – however, we do not think he intended to harm the children and as far as we are aware, this is part of the prank.” F*cking. Terrifying.
Check out the handy picture above which maps out the sightings of the clowns in the UK (ie what areas to avoid like the plague).
Although the origins of this craze are yet to be determined, many believe it’s a clever PR stunt for the remake of Stephen King’s IT. King recently Tweeted the below..
