Rapper 50 Cent has sponsored an all-girl’s Welsh football team.

Called AFC Rumney, the under-14s girls team received the generous financial support from the hip-hop mogul after one of the player’s Dad’s worked with the rapper.

Thanks to Fiddy’s support, the AFC Rumney team will receive a new kit bearing the G-Unit and 50 Cent logos.

Announcing the news and thanking the rapper on Facebook, AFC Rumney’s side manager Richie Brown wrote in a post, “We feel absolutely over the moon that our u14s Girls have been sponsored by world known superstar actor/music producer Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson and G Unit.

“He has provided our girls with a brand new, top quality away kit which we look forward to wearing this season. He has also been extremely generous by providing our whole team with brand new club tracksuits. Thank you so much for your support, also a massive thank you to John Hall for securing the sponsorship for us.”

This move from 50 Cent follows the announcement of his farewell Final Lap Tour where the Southside Jamaica Queens hailing artist will perform his greatest hits for his fans one last time.

Celebrity involvement in UK football is nothing new and this contribution from 50 follows the purchasing of Wrexham AFC by A-List actor and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds.
