Northwest London’s ever-rising rap-star, Coults is back with a revitalising new mixtape, EGO.
This body of work is Coults’s second project of the year, following on from his hit album, “COULTURE”, released in February. The new collection of tracks promises to be another success. We enjoyed a taste of EGO in his two recent releases: “IP3”, a gritty and high-energy banger, and the experimental Afro-fusion offering, “In The Middle” featuring Odunsi (The Engine) and DEELA. Both tracks show the versatility and expanse of Coults’s talent, and the project in its entirety builds on that.
The 8-track mixtape is full of twists and turns as Coults experiments with futuristic production and eclectic soundscapes, doused in his bold and unapologetic energy. Further collaborations with Blanco, Maison2500 and hako add even more texture to the project. Consuming the body of work is an energising experience and the star has proved that he can’t be boxed in.
