Bashy announces his return to the music scene with the revelation of his upcoming sophomore album, Being Poor is Expensive, set to release on July 12th.
The album’s first single, “Sweet Boys Turned Sour”, is available now for streaming. The single, featuring soulful melodies and dancehall influences, showcases his storytelling prowess, set to production from Toddla T and delving into his upbringing in North West London. Directed by George Power, the accompanying video offers a glimpse into Bashy’s formative years on the Brunel Estate.
Bashy describes the album as a reflection on the realities of growing up impoverished, navigating challenges and grappling with personal demons.
