Blanco — long celebrated as one of the sharpest pens in London rap — builds on a year that included a sold-out run across the UK and Europe, plus the release of “Regime,” by unveiling his newest project, Paradise on a Lifeboat.
The Kennington-raised wordsmith delivers a compelling six-track collection that balances grit with moments of light. Taking thematic cues from a narrative arc in Naruto, the EP’s title reflects the tension between hope and hardship — a contrast that echoes Blanco’s own journey, marked by turbulence as well as brief glimpses of calm. Elements of his Angolan roots surface again through Kuduro-inflected production on “Regime,” while “One More Day” sees him reconnect with fellow London talent Kidwild, their first collaboration since the fan favourite “Remontada,” now well past 1.5 million streams.
