PS Hitsquad has been making waves in the UK drill scene with his energetic flows, bold visuals, and unique approach to music. Known for his confident personality and creative music videos, he’s back with his latest single “Turtle,” a fun, jumpy drill track that’s already turning heads. We caught up with PS Hitsquad to talk music, collaborations, fashion, and what’s next for him in the game.

First, I’d like to start by asking how your day has been and how you’re feeling today. Most people know you as PS Hitsquad, the artist, but how would you describe yourself as a person behind the music?

“Alhamdulillah, I’m doing well — I hope you’re good too. If I had to describe myself, I’d say I’m confident, intelligent, and funny. I’ll go with three… let me not do too much.”

Your new single “Turtle” is out now. What sparked the inspiration behind it?

“To be honest, I just wanted to make a fun, jumpy drill tune — you know what I’m saying? Nothing too serious, just something everyone can enjoy.”

It’s a really cool song, and the music video is super creative — especially the turtle with your face on it. Did you come up with that concept?

“Nah, I can’t lie — the video is cold, that one and “123.” I can’t take credit for it, unfortunately. The boy Billy Price — hats off to him, he did his thing.”

Both of those videos are super creative and interesting. What was your initial reaction when you saw the final cuts? And with your “123” track, you linked up with Skengdo and AM — what made them the right people to collaborate with?

“With that one, we were trying to show the UK in a two/three minute video, and he got it spot on. He got both videos spot on, to be honest, in terms of capturing the vision.

And AM and Skengdo — they’re just legends if you want to talk about this drill thing. That’s what man’s really trying to do: stamp this drill thing. And they’re heavy hitters.”

I also noticed your outfits in the videos — is fashion something that’s important to you?

“Nah, I wouldn’t really say that. I care less about it now that I’ve come back out, you get me? Last time I was out, I was into all of that. But man will always put that shit on regardless — I was putting that shit on even when I was rocking Reeboks, Reebok Classics. I wouldn’t say it’s a big thing to me, but man’s gotta look presentable at the same time, you know?”

What’s something about the music industry that you didn’t know before, but only realised once you stepped into it? Was there anything that surprised you?

“You know what it is — I didn’t know how gazi it was. It’s a bit wishy-washy, you know what I’m saying? Fake. That’s something I didn’t know. Obviously, people say that, but you never really know until you experience it. And I don’t even really think I’m fully in there yet anyway — maybe that’s why.”

Every artist gets misunderstood at some point. What’s something that people often get wrong about you?

“I think most of the time, people just think I’m tapped, you know what I’m saying? A common misconception is that I’m some off-key brudda, but really and truly, that’s not the case. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a great dude — haha, if I do say so myself.”

Musically, what’s next for you? Are you experimenting with new sounds or building towards a bigger project like an album?

“Musically, next man’s just pushing, really. I ain’t got a bracket on anything I’m doing, I just feel it, and if I feel something, I’m on it, you know what I mean? But yeah, expect the unexpected.”
