Two of Africa’s most influential hitmakers, long-time friends and creative partners Mr Eazi and King Promise, have announced a collaborative album titled See What We’ve Done, set for release on the 11th of March. The duo usher in the project with its first offering, “That Way,” a feel-good Afrobeats record that nods playfully to early-2000s pop nostalgia.
Shaped by producers GuiltyBeatz (Beyoncé, Tems, Jorja Smith) and JAE5 (J Hus, Dave, Burna Boy), the track reimagines a familiar melody through a contemporary African lens.
Drawing from the instantly recognisable guitar line and chorus of the Backstreet Boys’ 1999 classic “I Want It That Way,” “That Way” fuses sentimental pop songwriting with the warmth and bounce of modern Afrobeats, bridging generations while keeping the energy firmly rooted in the present.
