One week before the Christmas number one is announced and unlike the weather, the race is really heating up. With everyone getting into the festive spirit it’s unsurprising that the chart is filled with cheesy Christmas classics with the likes of “Fairy Tale Of New York” and Wham’s “Last Christmas”; which is currently sitting at number three following a campaign to get to number one in honour of the late George Michael; let’s take a deeper look at how the battle for number one is shaping up this week.

The unstoppable Michael Dapaah’s Big Shaq is still riding high at number eight with the viral smash “Man’s Not Hot”. In order to give himself a better chance of grabbing that elusive number one spot he’s even released a festive version of the song which you can check out right here.

Like we predicted a few weeks back on Doing Numbers, Stormzy has released some wavy visuals for his gospel grime fusion “Blinded By Your grace Pt 2”. Currently sitting at number 17 and dropping three places, currently flanked by Christmas staple Michael Buble and Shakin Stevens respectively. A few years ago mentioning Stormz in the same breathe as these artists would have been unthinkable and now he finds himself outperforming them! A true testament to how far the genre and Big Mike have come in a short space of time. The visuals are certain to catapult Stormzy back into the top ten as he grapples with the likes of Mariah Carey and Ed Sheeran for the number one spot.

Dave and Mo Stack are just a few spots lower at number 26, with one of Steel Banglez finest productions of the year on “No Words”. After a sell-out tour and winning a heap of awards it really has been a great year for Dave.

The biggest climber this week is Ramz, who has climbed to number 27 from 41 with his banger “Barking”. Be sure to check out our exclusive interview with Ramz where he details his meteoric rise and what he has in store for us in 2018.

Another climber is Not3s’s “My Lover” which claims the number 40, if you missed it be sure to check out GRM Daily’s huge second single which Not3s featured on with Fredo “YRF”. Be sure to check back next week to see who claimed Christmas number one crown!
