London Borough of Southwark council have published new documents in which they announce plans of a “comprehensive redevelopment” in Peckham which would see Bold Tendencies, Frank’s Café, Peckham Levels and the iconic Peckhamplex cinema torn down.
In 2013 the Government Planning Inspector advised that long term uses for the buildings already standing should be investigated before any decisions were made. This was never done.
A petition has now been started by Peckham Vision to write to the council to give your opinions on what the future of Peckham should hold. The petition has a pre-written letter that you can simply add your name to, or the option to amend/write your own plea.
You can let your thoughts on the proposed move known by writing a letter here. The deadline to submit your thoughts is 5pm on 28th April.
