Hardy Caprio has taken to Twitter to call out a Tesco branch for “racism” following a recent in-store encounter.
The young artist recalls trying to buy a kitchen knife at a store and being refused the sale.
Hardy was originally refused as he looked young but the artist says he was still refused the sale even after showing ID.
Hardy says he was told “Knife Crime is a big problem” by the staff.
Hardy wrote on Twitter, “It’s hard to say racism isn’t dead when Tesco staff told me, after showing them ID, that they didn’t feel comfortable selling me a knife. Initially cause of age (I’m 23) Following that, they said Knife Crime is a big problem etc.. ?????”
The artist has been describing his ordeal on Twitter and several other social media users have chimned in with similar experiences. The odd few have also come to Tesco’s defence.
