After releasing the original track and video this time last year, Donae’O returns with an all new sick official video for his summer banger, “Mami No Like”, but this time with an added twist.
The new visual for “Mami No Like”, directed by Matt Walker (responsible for JME’s “Man Don’t Care” and Wretch 32’s most recent “Antwi” videos), sees the UK Funky stalwart and a crew of dancers take over an abandoned warehouse. The twist? One of the dancers (Chris Fonseca) is deaf.
As a deaf dancer, Chris hasn’t had many chances to collaborate with the hearing dance community, so Noisey and Smirnoff teamed him up with the legendary Donae’o and dance crew Plague to help create a routine for the video. With its percussive bass, “Mami No Like” was the perfect song to inspire Chris, who “feels music through vibrations by holding the speaker and letting the ‘thumping’ travel through [his] body”.
