Recently Twitter has been looking into ways to update the app in order to hide how many likes and followers each account has and it looks like Instagram are about to follow in their footsteps.
The reveal of this information came from a tweet from a lady named Jane Manchun Wong who is described as an individual that reveals “unreleased features, security vulnerabilities & codes for fun”.
Wong posted images on Twitter of a new look Instagram she discovered where only the sharer would be able to see the number of likes a post received. She also revealed an Instagram tagline that read “We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get. During this test, only the person who shares a post will see the total number of likes it gets.”

Instagram released a short statement on the subject which seemingly denied the rumour. They said, “we’re not testing this at the moment, but exploring ways to reduce pressure on Instagram is something we’re always thinking about.”
