Jay-Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation has joined forces with book publishing company Random House to launch a brand-new imprint.
Named Roc Lit 101, the joint venture from the two companies will be devoted to publishing “books at the dynamic intersection of entertainment and genre-defying literature.”
In a statement to The Associated Press today (December 15), Roc Nation’s Executive Vice President, Jana Fleishman, said: “There are so many untold stories and we consider it a true privilege to be able to amplify diverse voices while exploring the uncharted worlds that are about to open to us.”
Among future releases from Roc Lit 101 is a book on criminal justice from Meek Mill, fantasy fiction from Lil Uzi Vert and memoirs from Yo Gotti and Fat Joe.
Leading the imprint is Chris Jackson, who added:”Our aspiration for the imprint is to create books that draw from the best of pop culture— its most imaginative and talented storytellers, innovators, and literary chroniclers — to create beautifully written and produced works that will entertain and enthrall readers, but also illuminate critical issues.”
