Toronto’s Mustafa has shared a brand-new single titled “Ali”.
Using his angelic vocals and minimalistic production, Mustafa has established a sound he refers to as “inner city folk music” in recent times and on his latest single, this style is used to pay tribute to the singer’s late friend, Ali Rizeig, who passed away in 2017.
The sobering themes of death and grief are reflected in the visuals which end with scenes of a candlelight vigil in remembrance of Ali.
The track is set to feature on Mustafa’s forthcoming debut project, When Smoke Rises, which is out on May 28th and will feature the recently released “Stay Alive” and “Air Forces”.
