“Energy” MC and one half of Young Fire, Old Flame, Avelino, has commented on Glastonbury’s incredible grime performances that have been some of the more talked-about sets.

Stormzy sent the crowd into a frenzy last night after Wiley warmed the festival-goers up with a set of his own. But, it was Friday’s Sonic stage that really put on for the scene. Big Tobz, Avelino, Cadet, Sian Anderson, Kojo Funds, Mist, 67, Dave, AJ Tracey, Nadio Rose and Nines all took to the stage to deliver killer sets. Grime’s favourite son Jeremy Corbyn even made an appearance before Run The Jewels’ set.

Avelino spoke to NME after his set saying, “It was a great moment, man. It’s one of those moments you get as an artist and as a person, where you go, ‘You know what? Life ain’t too bad'”

He continued by saying, “These people are my friends. As excited as I am to come off that stage and feel the electricity running through my blood vessels, I feel the same excitement for my peers. The love in the room’s incredible. The energy is electric. It’s just a pleasure to be here on such a treasured, iconic British event.”

Boy Better Know are set to close the festival on the Other stage tonight.
