People have taken to social media to voice their displeasure at the introduction of a new meal deal available at Tesco.
Long gone are the days of the £3 all-in deal, with the supermarket introducing an even more expensive variant of the popular lunch time choice.
They’ve debuted a “premium” version of the meal deal, which includes a snack, a main – including popular brands like Itsu and YO! Sushi – and a drink, coming in between £5 and £5.50 depending on choices.
One Twitter user [@MelMx__] wrote, “Tesco’s meal deal doesn’t bang enough for it to be £5. They’re crooks. No meal deal should be that much sorry. Cold sammich [sic], crisp and juice? No”.
However the original meal deal variant still remains available, although its current price is £3.90 for non-Clubcard holders.
There’s reportedly a whopping four million possible food combinations for the premium meal deal, but it remains to be seen if customers will be willing to fork out at the higher price point.
