It has been just over 23 years since Tupac Shakur was fatally shot while riding as a passenger in Suge Knight’s BMW and now the car is being auctioned for $1.75 million (£1.34 million).

The car is being sold by the Celebrity Cars dealership in Las Vegas, who’ve described the car on their website as: “This is the actual car that Tupac Shakur was shot while riding in after a Fight at the MGM in Las Vegas.

“It was driven by Suge Knight and originally leased by Death Row Records. This is the first time this car has ever been up for sale or on display since his death in 1996. It has been completely restored to the condition it was in before his death and has just received a new coat of paint.”

It is also noted that the car’s most recent owner put the vehicle through a full restoration, however; indentation still remains where it is believed bullet holes once were. Apart from that, the BMW 750Li, which has several owners since Tupac’s death, is said to “[run] great and is in excellent condition”.

Tupac was fatally shot in the BMW in the September of 1996 when a white Cadillac pulled up next to him and Suge Knight and opened fire. Suge was able to escape being seriously hurt but Tupac was shot four times, resulting in the rapper’s death six days later.

The selling of the car Tupac was fatally shot in comes months after it was revealed a new docuseries centred around the rapper’s life is in the works.
