Days after being charged with assault, Caroline Flack has announced she will be quitting her role as the Love Island host.

Flack made the shocking announcement on Instagram earlier today (December 17).

She wrote: “Love island has been my world for the last 5 years, it’s the best show on telly.

“In order not to detract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down for series 6.

Last Thursday (December 12), the 40-year-old presenter was arrested and charged with assault by bearting following an alleged incident at her home with her boyfriend.

Regarding the charges, Flack wrote on Instagram: “There have been a significant number of media reports and allegations in regards to my personal life.

“While matters were not as have been reported, I am committed to co-operating with the appropriate authorities and I can’t comment further on these matters until the legal process is over.”

After Caroline Flack’s arrest last week, many social media users speculated she would quit Love Island, with many hoping BBC Radio 1’s much-loved Maya Jama would replace her as host of the show.

Love Island
