Coming through with visuals for a new Deezkid-produced joint dubbed “Ave Life” is Yorkshire’s very own, Chiedu Oraka.

On the latest track from Chiedu – also known as ‘The Black Yorkshireman’ – the rapper tells us about his upbringing on a council estate in Hull and how harder times have helped shaped the man he is today and his drive. In the accompanying video, Chiedu heads back to his old block to give us more of a sense of the environment described in his bars.

“What does Ave Life mean? Council estate confidence,” Chiedu said of the track. “It’s more than a title, it’s an energy. We have to celebrate our journey, the victories and the hardships. We come from a place full of deprivation which means our aspirations have been limited due to a lack of confidence.

“There is no need to feel ashamed anymore. We need to be walking around with our heads held high because we are survivors, we have survived the surroundings we were born in and that makes us great.”
