Chris Brown, Tyga and Scottish band Chvrches are feuding on Instagram over Marshmello’s new track with the American artists.
Marshmello recently released the video to the track “Light It Up” which features vocals from Chris Brown and a verse from Tyga. The Scottish band who have frequently collaborated with Marshmello took to Instagram to criticize the producer for working with Chris and Tyga following Chris’ criminal past and Tyga’s past controversies.
Chvrches posted, “We are really upset, confused and disappointed by Marshmello’s choice to work with Tyga and Chris Brown. We like and respect Mello as a person but working with people who are predators and abusers enables, excuses and ultimately tacitly endorses that behaviour. That is not something we can or will stand behind”.
The criticism follows Chris Brown’s 2009 domestic abuse conviction for assaulting Rihanna and Tyga’s alleged relationship with Kylie Jenner before she turned 18.
Chris Brown has since responded with a series of now-deleted comments and posts on Instagram. Chris said, “Bunch of losers. These are the type of people I wish walked in front of a speeding bus full of mental patients. Keep grovelling over your own insecurities and hatred”.
Chris later said in another post, “Don’t worry about these ignorant unforgiving simple-minded peasants”.

Tyga has also responded to Chvrches saying, “Everyone makes mistakes. Keep the energy positive.”
Lauren Mayberry, lead singer or Chvrches has not responded directly to Chris Brown or Tyga but has referenced abusive DMs she has received since the statement and wrote, “Angry men on the internet can call me all the names they want. I still think domestic abuse is wrong”.
