Despite only recently announcing the line up for their 50th anniversary, Glastonbury have announced that the festival will no longer go ahead.
In a post on Twitter, Michael & Emily addressed festival goers with the disappointing news as they informed the 135,000 people who have already purchased tickets that they will roll over to 2021.
On the same day, Sainsbury’s has become the latest supermarket to begin rationing products in a bid to stop customers from coronavirus stockpiling.
As Sainsbury’s will limit shoppers to three products, or two in the case of toilet paper, ling-life milk and soap their CEO Mike Coupe said: “We have enough food coming into the system, but are limiting sales so that it stays on the shelves for longer and can be bought by a larger number of customers.”
Aldi was the first UK supermarket to introduce limits, as Waitrose, Tesco and Lidl followed suit. As well as rationing, many supermarkets have also adapted opening hours, offering exclusive shopping times for elderly customers.
News of Sainsburys’ new measures come after the number of coronaviruses in the UK rose to 1,950 yesterday, with the death toll currently standing at 71.
