Self-proclaimed Black Beatles Young Adz and Dirtbike LB who come together to form D-Block Europe have earned their legendary status now – possessing the powerful ability to sell out London’s O2 Arena four times over – a nuclear weapon that many artists both homegrown and international just simply do not have in their artillery.
Supporting their newly released Rolling Stone album, this new tour continues the duo’s rockstar run and offered fans a new opportunity to see the artists live.
Opening the show was DJ Semtex who kept the crowd engaged and excited with typical hype anthems like Sheck Wes’s “Mo Bamba” and Central Cee’s “Doja”.
Later, the main event finally commenced, and the atmosphere was joyous and exciting. Opening with a breaking news video that detailed DBE’s most prolific accolades, the crowd was roaring and ready to go when Young Adz and Dirtbike LB finally emerged to the sounds of a live band rendition of their smash hit “Darling”.
The O2 was lit up in purple and pink hues in an ode to the Rolling Stone’s colour scheme and the duo did their best to share the stage equally.
Tracks like “Nassty”, “Large Amounts”, “Conor McGregor” and “I Need It Now” were delivered early and fans loved every minute of it, belting out the explicit drug and sex themed lyrics without ever missing a step.
All eras were covered in the setlist – with DBE performing classics like “The Shard” and “Large Amounts” as well as newer hits like “Bankroll Got Bigger”, “Kevin McCallister” and “Outside”.
Yxng Bane was the first special guest of the night, joining Adz and Dirtbike for renditions of “ILY” and “Pink Lemonade”.
Quickly after, D-Block Europe launched into a performance of “Overseas” which currently sits on 183 million Spotify streams. It was near impossible to hear the actual performance thanks to the euphoric shrills from the crowd once Central Cee appeared on stage to perform his verse. As two giant acts that have captured the hearts of Gen Z and beyond, the moment of brotherhood shared between DBE and Central Cee was a historic one.
Also appearing as a special guest was Nafe Smallz as well as Skepta and Chip – with the latter two dropping the collab tape Insomnia with Young Adz back in 2020.
Despite having a helping hand from a handful of special guests, Young Adz and Dirtbike LB were never overshadowed – taking centre stage throughout the entire show and lapping up the well-deserved admiration they were receiving from their loyal fans.
“Ferrari Horses” and “Home Pussy” signalled the end of the show before Adz promised the crowd just one more song and of course, the night wouldn’t have been complete without their staple track “Kitchen Kings” – the trap centred anthem that appeared on their Home Alone tape that many fans laud as a classic.
The night was sold out and no DBE fan looked the same – with fans across all ages, ethnicities and genders coming together to share in the success of this record-breaking group. Once Young Adz and Dirtbike LB left the stage, this diverse group of fans all had one thing in common though – the shared look of a fan sad that their short moment with their favourite artist was over.
D-Block Europe continue their run of headline shows at London’s O2 Arena until Wednesday 7th February.
