Nigerian-born, London-based artist Dan Onkar has blessed us with a new EP dubbed Irene.
Meshing elements of both afrobeats and R&B, Dan Onkar creates a smooth-sounding body of work on this project and sets the soothing tone with with the lead single and intro “Scandalous”.
The 11-minute project is dominated by Dan’s soft vocals, but we do hear the singer team up with BenjiFlow on the upbeat offering “Money Don’t Speak”.
“Irene is inspired by a woman’s beauty” Dan said of the project. “I wanted to create a project that reflected happy love and celebration, from the lyrics to the production I want the music to make you feel a groove by yourself, with your friends or your loved ones.”
