Daniel Kaluuya will not be featuring in the upcoming Black Panther 2 film, it has been confirmed.
The news was confirmed by Variety who announced the British actor was unable to reprise his role as W’Kabi due to scheduling conflicts between the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film and Jordan Peele’s Nope.
Following several delays, filming for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever wrapped up in March this year following numerous delays. According to sources close to the project, Kaluuya had been asked to return but he had already committed to star in Jordan Peele’s Nope – which is out on July 22.
The sci-fi film marks Kaluuya’s second project with Peele following the 2017 blockbuster, Get Out.
Despite Kaluuya not starring in the Black Panther sequel, the MCU flick will see the return of Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Winston Duke as M’Baku and Angela Bassett as Ramonda.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently due for release this November.
