In the latest innovative yet peculiar new invention from Tesla’s Elon Musk, the tech entrepreneur has unveiled plans to design a new Bluetooth powered brain implant which will connect to your smartphone.
The new invention created by Musk’s company Neuralink will enable telepathy and will use electrical signals sent by the brain to perform actions and tasks.
The technology is expected to be able to help those with reduced motor function; notably “stroke victims, cancer patients, quadriplegics or others with congenital defects” according to Musk but the product is predicted to one day be available for all to enhance their usage of modern-day technology.
On the new product, Elon said at the launch event, “If you’re going to stick something in a brain, you want it not to be large” and that he is certain the new invention will have a “positive effect on humanity”.
The technology has already been successfully trailed on rats and monkeys and human trials will begin next year according to Musk. The human trial has yet to receive approval however from the US Food and Drug Administration which is compulsory before any testing on humans can begin.
This new product follows a history of revolutionary new inventions and innovations from Elon Musk which include his intention of taking humans to Mars and the constant redevelopment of Tesla cars.
