Megan Thee Stallion ft. Beyonce – Savage Remix
“Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion has snowballed into a mega-hit all on its own accord (with an assist from TikTok), but the new remix released in the last week is sure fire to ensure it remains in the charts stratosphere, with none other than Queen B stepping in to the mix. Beyonce adds some new verses and catchy adlibs to the bouncy production (with some Instagrammable lines written by her husband Jay Z), whilst Meg brings her rap bravado back for a second round too.
Lil Tjay – Ice Cold
New York youngster Lil Tjay caused quite a stir over the weekend with some controversial headlines, but don’t let that take away the fact that he released some solid new music too, in the form of new video “Ice Cold”. He brings his now trademark flow to the centre of the track, one that finds him laying down some pain in autotune-tinged melodies.
J.I. – Proud Of Me
Another rising artist from the Big Apple is J.I. – who broke through locally last year with some cold tracks -and now he’s back with his latest offering. “Proud Of Me” adopts a similar style to his previous releases, with sweet melodies over trap beats, the majority of the lyricism on the records being directed towards the galdem.
Drake ft. Fivio Foreign & Sosa Geek – Demons
Superstar Drake is another Canadian who gets a bly on this list, as despite his country of origin, his music continues to dominate the scene Stateside. His latest mixtape release, Dark Lane Demo Tape, is no different, particularly this drill inspired release. “Demons” features Drizzy adopting his infamous drill cadence once more, alongside guest verses from New Yorkers Fivio Foreign and Sosa Geek.
Lil Baby – Social Distancing
Rounding off this week’s list is Lil Baby, who performed a victory lap of the success of his album, unveiling a bunch of new tracks as part of the deluxe editions. One of the standouts – and the one to kick off the new list of additions – is the appropriately titled “Social Distancing”, which features the Atlanta star delivering his unique style over a trademark Baby-style beat.
