After announcing his new plans to rename Facebook as Meta, Mark Zuckerberg has unveiled plans to bring Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to the Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset.
Confirming Zuckerberg’s announcement with a blog post, Oculus games said, “There’s more on the way, believe it or not. VR gaming continues to grow, and we’re investing heavily in building a healthy ecosystem for both developers and players—for the long term. In gaming, we see the seeds of what will one day become the metaverse, and we’re excited to help build that along with all of you.
“Today at Connect, we announced that the Rockstar Games classic Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is in development for Quest 2.
“Get a new perspective on Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas as you experience (again or for the first time) one of gaming’s most iconic open worlds. This is a project many years in the making, and we can’t wait to show you more of it.”
The Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset offers gamers an immersive gaming experience that is centred around realism and physical action.
With Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas offering players a sandbox open-world game with lots to enjoy, the possibilities are endless for what this new reincarnation of GTA will offer.
With no release date yet, gamers can enjoy the upcoming Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition that will launch on consoles in November.
