Grand Theft Auto fans are busy this week after the discovery of a possible new GTA 6 map sparked debate.

Unveiled by 4chan, a credible source for gaming leaks, the supposed new map was compared to the scale of Grand Theft Auto 5’s and on inspection, fans noted that the maps were similar in size.

The map has caused a divide, with gamers arguing over its legitimacy.

One said: “I still don’t believe it’s legit for various reasons, namely how the fuck could someone draw a sketch that accurate? The size is also incredibly suspect, the highways also look wonky as fuck (as in they look like 6 lanes wide or some shit, wider than the airport lmao) – a longside the super low quality pictures.”

Another added, “I’d be disappointed if it was real because it still follows the same map blueprint as V and I didn’t like that there was only 1 city for the whole island,

“I mean it’s not bad but this is literally the size of a map scaled down and built for 2005 hardware. we can do so much better! And yeah I understand there’s multiple islands but i know they could do way way more than that.”

Arguing for the map being real, one Redditor said, “It’s like 5x the size idiot. You do realise this is only part of the leak, right? Also Map size DOESNT MATTER.”

The speculation comes as the expanded and enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto V is set to arrive on November 11th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

On the Rockstar Newswire, the gaming studio wrote: “As an added bonus — this summer’s updates to GTA Online will include special benefits for players to take advantage of in these expanded and enhanced versions when they drop.

“Plus, in honour of the upcoming 20th anniversary of the genre defining Grand Theft Auto III, we’ll have even more fun surprises to share — including some specifically for GTA Online players.

While the standalone version of GTA Online will be available to players on both platforms, this new standalone version of GTA Online will be available for free exclusively to PlayStation 5 players during the first three months.”
