The Met Office has confirmed an ‘Iberian plume’ is set to hit the UK this weekend as the heatwave moves over from Spain. In a non-alarming tone, however, specialists refer to it as a ‘mini-heatwave’ as it is expected to pass rather quickly.

The temperatures predicted range within the mid-20s and could possibly peak at 29C. The South-East of England is expected to see the most sunshine during the heatwave whilst the South-West could also see thunderstorms and rain showers.

A Met Office spokesperson told the MailOnline: “By Saturday, warmer air is being drawn up from the south for the UK, which could lead to some spots seeing temperatures of around 29C, which is most likely in the south east of England. More widely it’ll be around mid-20s Celsius, though could be subdued for some with some associated showers.”

It is officially set to be a hot weekend, so pack your sunscreen with you but don’t forget to bring an umbrella too!
