The I’m A Celebrity campmates have been removed from Gwrych castle over safety issues caused by Storm Arwen.

As the severe weather continues to batter parts of the UK including Wales, Saturday and today’s episodes of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here were cancelled and Friday’s live element was scrapped as the weather made it impossible to film.

In a statement, ITV said, “Owing to technical difficulties caused by extreme weather conditions in the area, there will be no new episodes of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

“I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be replaced tonight and tomorrow night in the ITV schedules by compilation shows (voiced by Ant & Dec) featuring best moments from previous series.”

Later they added, “Whilst we get the production base back up and running after suffering technical issues due to the storm, we have removed the celebrities from the castle.”

The celebrities will be kept in quarantine to ensure that the set remains COVID secure and they will be returned to the main camp once it is safe to do so.

The news comes just after ITV This Morning star Richard Madeley had to leave the show after falling ill during the night.

The star was taken to a local hospital for checks but as he broke the show’s bubble at the hospital, his COVID status could not be confirmed and he had to depart the series early.

Elsewhere in the I’m A Celebrity camp, Naughty Boy, Snoochie Shy and more continue to steal scenes with their trials.

Naughty Boy recently won all 11 stars for his campmates and which them a luxurious dinner.
