The full list of nominees for the 2021 Ivor Novello Awards have been revealed!
The Ivors celebrate the best in songwriting and composing and Pa Salieu has been acknowledged twice this year; receiving nominations for Best Album for his project, Send Them To Coventry, as well as Best Contemporary Song for “Energy” featuring Mahalia.
Also nominated for Best Contemporary Song is producer Fraser T Smith and his track “Children of the Internet” with Dave and Es Devlin.
Another big song to receive a nomination this year is Headie One and Fred Again’s “Gang” which is in the running for the Best Song Musically & Lyrically award.
AJ Tracey and Kamille have received nods in the Songwriter of the Year category where they’re up against the likes of Kid Harpoon, Harry Styles, MNEK, Celeste and Jamie Hartman.
“Over the last year we’ve felt the power of songwriting and the stories told through music,” Shaznay Lewis, an Ivor Novello award winner and chair of The Ivors Awards committee, said. “The Ivors are so important because they celebrate where all the music begins – with songwriters and composers.
“The judges have chosen a selection of exceptional music that moves, unites and inspires us.”
Winners will be announced at a ceremony at Grosvenor House in London on 21 September.
