Public Enemies: Jay-Z Vs. Kanye West will explore the beef between the former Watch The Throne collaborators and airs at 22:00 on Monday, on Channel 4.
The issues between the rappers came to prominence last year during Kanye’s Saint Pablo Tour. During one of his shows, Ye’ launched a rant at Hov and his wife Beyoncé.
Ye’ alleged that Mrs. Carter said she would not perform at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards unless “Formation” won video of the year over his controversial “Famous“.
At another concert Ye’ took aim at Hov for not reaching out to him after his wife, Kim Kardashian, was robbed in Paris.
Ye’ said, “Jay-Z call me bra, you still ain’t called me. Ayy bra, Jay-Z I know you got killers, please don’t send at my head, just call me.
“Talk to me like a man, I can’t take this s*** bro! Our kids have never played together.”
Shorty after this incident, Kanye was taken ill and things seemed to have calmed down between the rappers until last month when Hov dropped his latest album 4:44.
On the track “Kill Jay-Z“ Hov makes reference to Ye’s rant when he spits, “You got hurt because you did cool by Ye’ but you gave him $20 million without blinking. He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*** what was he thinking”.
Hov also sends a shot at Ye’ on “Bam“ when he rapped, “N***** is skippin’ leg day just to run their mouth, I be skippin’ leg day, I still run the world.”
This was a response to Ye’s “I hit the gym, all chest no legs” line on “30 Hours“. The documentary features comments from music insiders and friends of both artist.
