In the pictures, shot by photographer Danny Williams (for MTV), Jhené Aiko recreates three of Tupac’s most iconic images on what would have been his 44th birthday.

One of the pictures from the photoshoot was inspired by Tupac’s 1996 album cover “All Eyez on Me”. The others were from Pac’s posthumous “Greatest Hits” collection (released in 1998) and his David LaChapelle’s “Becoming Clean” spread in 1995.

“The Worst” singer was only eight years old when Tupac died on September 13th 1996 but has always seen Pac as a inspiration.

During the shoot Jhené said: “I remember for one of my birthdays, my dad got me one of his poetry books and I was just tripping out because his voice is his own thing.

“Even if he didn’t write, his voice is powerful enough to stand alone, but then his words are the same thing. They’re powerful enough to stand on their own by just reading them. That’s something that I would like my words to be.”
