Netflix has tweeted a trailer for their new movie Imperial Dreams, starring Peckham’s own, John Boyega.
Although Star Wars fans will undoubtedly be excited to see their new fave star guy on screens again, this may not be exactly what they were expecting. Despite having a name that sounds like a possible title for Episode Nine, it actually focuses on the very real hood.
The show will see Boyega’s character attempt to create a better life for his son out of LA’s notorious Imperial projects. Netflix describes the project as a “gangster fairy tale about a father’s struggle to build a better life for his son.” Sounds dope.
The trailer shows just some of the trials (literally) and tribulations that Boyega’s character goes through in order to create a better future for his son. There’s no doubt that Boyega has the American accent down and from the trailer alone we can already tell he gives an incredibly heartfelt performance.
And the best part is we don’t even have to wait that long, the show is set to drop on Netflix in February.
