At just 18 years old, Walsall native, Jorja Smith is a breath of fresh air. Creating beautifully emotive and haunting music, influenced by a range of sounds from Mos Def to Lauryn Hill and The Streets.
Sharing her second track to date, after the success of her first – “Blue Lights“, Jorja has teamed up with illustrator Yao, who drew each frame of the visual by hand.
The single, titled “A Prince”, speaks frankly on what Jorja has learnt from others, on the topic of love and relationships; attributing these experiences to fairytales. The honesty and innocence of Jorja’s voice perfectly compliments the subject matter, and eery yet comforting Henry Purcell sample. Featuring Maverick Sabre, the song is the first taster of Jorja’s future releases and collaborative potential.
We can’t wait to see what Jorja brings us next. Vibes on vibes.
