KFC will release a new anime-style free to play video game later this month.
Called I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger-Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator, the game features hours of storylines as well as cooking challenges.
The game borrows key elements of the Japanese dating simulator gaming genre and invites players to compete in a culinary style environment for the affections of KFC’s mascot Colonel Sanders.

In a statement, a spokesperson for KFC said, “KFC is always looking for ways to reach niche communities in unexpected—but authentic—ways, creating compelling experiences that these communities will seek to be a part of”.
The description for the game on Steam reads, “
I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger-Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator follows you, a promising culinary student, as you try to date your classmate, Colonel Sanders. Throughout your journey, you’ll be faced with life-changing decisions that will affect your chances of friendship and love. But be careful! Your choices have real consequences with real animated characters’ feelings at stake…”
“Do you have what it takes to survive culinary school? Will Colonel Sanders choose you to be his business partner? Or maybe even so much more? Find out in the most finger-
lickin‘ good dating simulator ever created—a game that KFC actually made”.
The game follows several innovative and creative marketing campaigns by the brand which includes their infamous ‘FCK’ campaign when they ran out of chicken and their recent marketing material which targets copycat fast-food brands.
In 2017, the brand released a novel entitled
Tender Wings of Desire which narrated a love story between two unlikely companions.
The game is set for release on the 24th of September via Steam.
