Krept and Konan have announced the launch of Saveways, the UK’s first large-scale supermarket designed specifically to cater to the needs of black, Asian and ethnic communities.

The groundbreaking store will open its doors on Saturday, 1 February 2025, at 102 Beddington Lane, Croydon, CR0 4YX, marking a significant milestone in retail inclusivity.

Partnering with entrepreneur Kaysor Ali, the founder of the Steakout and Smacks Hamburgers franchises, Saveways spans an impressive 15,000 square feet and is set to create over 30 jobs. The supermarket aims to provide a unique shopping experience, offering products tailored to the diverse cultural and dietary preferences of Croydon’s community and beyond.

“It’s an honour to be part of this venture,” said Krept and Konan. “We’re all about representation and finding solutions for underrepresented communities. Saveways is a game-changer, and we’re thrilled to see this vision come to life.”

Specialising in world foods and premium halal produce, Saveways will feature a fresh halal meat counter, exotic fish selection, bakery section and global produce. Shoppers will also find a wide range of ethnic hair and beauty products, household essentials, and more.

With parking for over 30 vehicles and modern services like click and collect and delivery through Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Just Eat, Saveways offers unparalleled convenience for local residents.
