The Shadow Business Secretary is one of the Labour Party’s rising politicians and was appearing on Sky News to discuss Prime Minster David Cameron’s speech on the economy.
However Dermot Murnahan, who was presenting the programme, asked Mr Umunna his opinion on a letter sent by the Government today to Muslim leaders, urging them to explain how Islam “can be a part of British identity.”
Mr Umunna, who is usually imperturbable, became irritated and explained he was on the show to talk about Mr Cameron’s speech and not a letter “he did not have the chance to read”.
