Larry June kicked off the UK leg of his world tour that started in October, with the San Francisco-born, Atlanta-raised rapper headlining a sold-out KOKO in London yesterday.
Before Larry took the stage Northwest London-based rapper Ashbeck warmed the crowd up, getting them fired up with his stage presence and energetic performances. Larry then graced the stage, rocking the crowd with his captivating stage presence, creating an infectious vibe that the audience was drawn to, performing songs like “The Good Kind” and “Don’t Try It.” Larry’s unique sound and impressive cataloge have provided him a dedicated fanbase with KOKO struggling to contain the atmosphere and vitality that Larry and the crowd created.
With Larry dropping The Great Escape earlier this year in collaboration with legendary producer The Alchemist, he satisfied the audience by playing a few bangers off that project including “89 Earthquake”, “Palisades CA” and “60 Days”. He mixed it up however, going through his whole discography playing a blend of new and old songs from “I’m Him” off last year’s Spaceships on the Blade, “Wait On Me” from 2021’s Orange Print where the crowd gave their own acapella of the song’s catchy chorus. He even took us back to some songs from his 2019 projects such as “SLS 30 Days” from Out The Trunk and “Feeling Good Today” from Mr Midnight.
Larry’s crowd control regularly saw them getting involved with his performance, whether that was joining in with his signature phrases with ‘aye aye aye aye’ or ‘good job Larry’, making the show feel much more interactive and keeping the hype going throughout. You could witness the loyalty fans had to Larry with dedicated fans catching a vibe to every track and rapping and singing along word for word.
Even after finishing after the crowd chanted for one more, Larry obliged, giving one last energetic performance with “Green Juice In Dallas.” All in all, Larry June’s London show didn’t disappoint, he brought the vibes and energy, getting the crowd rocking with his unique catchy sound and excellent live performance.
