With the latest season having firmly come to a close, it looks like Love Island is set to experience another shake up, as Laura Whitmore announces she’s stepping down as host.

The 37-year old has been at the helm of the past three seasons, after replacing the late Caroline Flack in January 2020.

She took to Instagram to say, “I won’t be hosting the next series of Love island. There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects.

“I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series.

“I hope I did you proud Caroline,” she added.

Davide Sanclimeti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu were crowned the winners of this summer’s show, whilst another season of Love Island is due to air this winter.
