Footballing icon Lionel Messi has agreed to joined Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year contract, according to Sky Sports News.
It has been reported that the Argentinian star has chosen to join the French side on a deal worth £25m per year. Messi will reportedly have the option of staying on for a third year and will also receive a £25m signing-on fee.
News of Messi joining PSG comes after it was announced last week that he would be leaving Barcelona after 21 years at the club.
Messi and Barcelona were in talks to extend the player’s contract from July but a deal could not be completed due to “financial and structural obstacles”.
He is now set to join PSG where he’ll compete for major trophies such as the Champions League.
