A man who allegedly robbed the same shop 11 times in five months has been finally arrested by Chicago, Illinois police.
The Chicago Police Department officials arrested Donte Elbert, 36, on West Belmont Avenue on Monday, where he was taken into custody for attempting to get out the shop without paying for his goods.
The staff at the store that Elbert robbed 11 times signed formal complaints – after his many illicit visits between December 2022 and April this year – which led to his arrest.
Elbert also allegedly stole merchandise from a different location on the same block. He is now facing nine felony counts of retail theft of merchandise less than $300, three felony counts of retail theft of merchandise with a value of more than $300 and one misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing.
Police have not commented on whether they believe Elbert is connected to any other thefts.
