Rumours surrounding a brand new PlayStation console have gained momentum with leaked court documents emerging from Microsoft’s legal battle against the FTC [Federal Trade Commission].
While the authenticity of these documents is yet to be confirmed, they indicate that Sony may unveil the PS5 Slim later this year.
Within context of the documents, Microsoft dropped the news that “Sony is expected to release a PlayStation 5 Slim later this year at the same reduced price point.”
Fans have been eagerly awaiting a slimmer version of the popular console ever since the launch of the PS5, hoping for options similar to the PS4 Slim and Pro.
While specific details about the PS5 Slim remain scarce, speculation suggests a potential inclusion of a detachable USB-C disc drive, either bundled with the console or sold separately.
If the leaked information holds true, an announcement for the PS5 Slim could align with previous rumours pointing towards a September 2023 release.
Following the pattern set by the PS4 Slim, an official unveiling in September would likely be followed by a release shortly thereafter.
As excitement builds among gaming enthusiasts, they eagerly await confirmation from Sony and further details about the highly anticipated new PlayStation.
