As the gaming community dives into the first adventures of 2024, a recent study conducted by Gameyard sheds light on the UK’s most-anticipated games for the year.
Analysing Google search data from the past 12 months on 81 major gaming titles set to launch in 2024, the study revealed the top five games generating the highest average monthly search volumes.
Topping the list is Tekken 8, slated for release on January 26, 2024. Featuring 32 confirmed characters and a twist with original protagonist Kayuza Mashima turning villain, the game has garnered an impressive monthly search average of 28,975.
Following closely is Ubisoft’s long-awaited co-op pirate adventure, Skull and Bones, with a release date of February 16, 2024. Despite delays, UK gamers are eagerly anticipating this seafaring experience, reflected in the second-highest monthly search average of 22,123.
In the third spot is Nightingale by Canadian developer Inflexion Games, set to launch on February 22, 2024. This survival crafting game, set in a post-apocalyptic Victorian landscape, has gained popularity in the UK, boasting an average monthly search volume of 20,220.
Star Wars Outlaws secures the fourth position, with an unspecified release date in 2024. The first-ever open-world Star Wars game by Ubisoft promises an original story, contributing to an average monthly search volume of 19,555.
Closing the top five is Ark 2, set to release at an unspecified date in 2024. Despite delays from its initial 2023 release plan, the survival game with Vin Diesel’s involvement has sparked interest, earning an average monthly search volume of 17,690.
A spokesperson from Gameyard said, “It will be interesting to see if these titles will live up to the hype and how search trends change throughout the year as embargoes drop and upcoming releases gather momentum.”
“With GTA 6 set to dominate the gaming landscape in 2025, the field is wide open for a title to steal the attention and adoration of gamers in 2024.”
