If Brexit wasn’t a shocking enough result to wake up to, today we woke up to Donald Trump being announced as the 45th president-elect of the United States of America.
Not too dissimilar to Brexit, the pollsters had made a hash of it and predicted the complete wrong outcome. The prediction was that Clinton would win, with an impressive margin at that, some pollsters had Clinton at 47.3% Trump at just 42% and the non-voters and spoilt ballots making up the remainder.
Now we know what actually happened was that Trump stormed to a surprise victory by taking many swing states and pretty much the entire South. Rather shockingly, Harambe, the gorilla who was killed in a Cincinnati Zoo early this year and shot to internet fame shortly afterwards, received 11,000 votes.
