Nelly has been arrested due to rape allegations lodged against him by a woman who said that she was raped in a town outside Seattle.
Nelly, who’s currently on tour, was arrested early Saturday morning following the allegations and remains in jail. He was due to perform at Ridgefield, Washington on Saturday evening.
Nelly’s lawyer has issued a statement vehemently denying the allegations saying, “Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges.
“Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”
