Getting your hands on a blockbuster console is a must for gamers as Christmas approaches. With PlayStation and Xbox locking horns over the years, one is now looking for the competitive edge with a brand-new proposal!

Sony are looking to entice and widen their audience before the 25th, as they look forward to a new subscription service for members titled Spartacus.

If you’re unfamiliar with this new service, Sony will be looking to rival Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass with Spartacus being a monthly subscription allowing its users to pick from a range of modern and classic games, and will be available to both PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles.

The new service is expected to take off in the spring of 2022 and will see a merge of PlayStation’s two existing subscriptions PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now, with there expected to be a “tier” of subscriptions with additional access of offers for each one. The first tier is believed to be essentially what subscribers already get with their Playstation Plus membership, the second tier would offer that plus a wide range of Playstation 4/5 games, with the third tier offering extended demos, game streaming and access to some of our favourite classic PS1 and PS2 games.

There has been no official statement from Sony yet, but keep it locked on GRM Daily for any further developments.
