Pa Salieu has delivered on his hotly anticipated new mixtape, Afrikan Alien, landing after a few years of turmoil for the Coventry-raised artist.
In his own words on the project, he said, “[This mixtape] is my story, my purpose. I started putting it together the moment I got out of prison, building it on real reflections and real experiences I processed while I was away. These bars were born in a cell and completed when I was released.
“My music explains who I am and what I stand for; it’s how I speak to the world. I was processed through the system, but I processed my mind towards freedom. So, when I come up against restrictions – like venues that won’t let me perform – I don’t feel sorry for myself or hold animosity towards others. I keep going because I understand why. Now, I’m back with nothing to prove, only here to experience the joys of making music.”
