Drill music on PornHub?
After the colossal deletion of drill music videos from YouTube due to claims that it incites violence and gang crime; with the Metropolitan Police claiming drill plays a part in the rise in knife warfare in the nations capital, some of the deleted videos have begun to resurface on none other than PornHub.
The removal came at the hands of the Metropolitan police commissioner Cressida Dick. In a statement, commenting on the motives behind the actions, Dick stated, “Drill music is associated with lyrics which are about glamourising serious violence. They describe the stabbings in great detail, joy and excitement.”
After removing over 30 videos from YouTube, pornography giant PornHub have seen such videos reappear. Music videos from groups 1011, who were recently sentenced to jail after members pleaded guilty to an armed attack against a rival gang in Shepherds Bush have now ben made available on the site. Leading on from the trial, the Police applied for a court order, banning the group from making drill music in the future. The order has been approved, and the artists now must obtain police permission to make music and videos. Additionally, the group are banned from mentioning death or injury in any music they may produce in the future, in attempts to stop glorifying violent acts via music.
Videos such as Crib Sessions from the legendary Tim Westwood can also currently be searched for on PornHub, leaving people both shocked and amazed by how far the ban on drill has really come.
